Family New Year gathering at home

Lucky: Ahh...gosh... I wish they never forget that I'm around!

Japanese flower arrangements... ahhh...don't expect too much folks... i'm just trying!

SHIMENAWA, one of Japanese New Year decoration, a sacred rope made of straw on which zig-zag strips of paper have been hung. This is placed above the front entrance in order to prevent "evil spirits" from entering the house.
