A blessed 2018 to all!!

Hello everyone!

How's your new year?  I hope you had fun and enjoyable celebration.

Thanks be to God for the wonderful 2017 ... that was a blessed one!  Lots of unforgettable moments like the grand family reunion in Davao City.  That was the last meeting also with my fav uncle Ben who passed away last December.  Lucky enough that I was able to bond and hug him for the last time during that visit in Davao City last May.  

My sis Malou's visit to Japan and Darling visit from Canada was great too! 

My 2017 was another busy year on travels ... i loved all the places i had been especially in Europe wherein I visited Austria, Spain, Hungary and Slovakia.  Thanks to all the kindness of my loving relatives and friends that I met there.

 Special thanks to my awesome bestie!!   You're the best dear!  Thank you for always being a very good friend of mine!

Exploring Bataan and visiting Okinawa was superb too! Including the summer visit in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo.  That was sooo hectic sched but incredible!  Thank you Lord for the strength, power and for being my provider always! 

I am also grateful to all the favorable works and activities that i did and experienced!  Nothing is impossible when i always depend on You!   

Foremost,  thanks be to God for protecting and watching over my family for the whole 2017. 

I do hope and pray for another healthy, happy and blessed 2018.

I had no plans to celebrate my birthday this year because i was terribly busy. 

But thanks to my family and friends who made effort to give me surprise birthday gatherings.  I actually celebrated my birthday five times this year... lol xx

A visit to DU30's home sweet home!

During my stay in Davao ... i also visited the comfort zone of Pres. Duterte. 

It seems that the house became one of the tourist destination spot in Davao City since Pres. Duterte became the President.

it end up that we went out in groups.



We are not prepared ... just brought what we can bring!

Premium Friday

After my class ... we went to a long drive in Gotemba in the mid of a gloomy and rainy day!  

Enjoying the cold and rainy Friday!  

It's premium Friday here in Japan ... so we enjoyed the buffet lunch in Gotemba Kogen ... only 1,500 yen ---with drink all you can beer!  Too bad i don't drink lol!

then we proceed to our fav spa inside the park ---

 so perfect for cold days like this!

It's holiday ... wondering where I can go ... 

so i tried to search and found this 

Saiko Iyashi no Sato no Nenba in Yamanashi.  

I got interested ... and drove there right away! 

It is a small charming village ... 

an open air museum and traditional craft village.

 

and the view of Mt. Fuji is a bonus. 

Some of the houses have exhibits, 

art galleries, handicrafts and displays of local art works. 

 There are some restaurants too where you can enjoy some of their native dishes.

 

 Matcha flavour my favorite!!! 

The village was destroyed by landslides in 1966 ... 

they rebuild it about 10 years ago.  

Overall ... i had a nice experience here ...
interesting and relaxing place.

Oni wa soto ... fuku wa uchi!

Did you throw some beans today?

Feb 3 is Setsubun day here in Japan. It's an annual Japanese tradition. 

As explained in www.cute-calendar.com ... 

Setsubun, also called Bean-Throwing Festival or Bean-Throwing Ceremony, is the day before the beginning of Spring in Japan. The name literally means "seasonal division", but usually the term refers to the Spring Setsubun, properly called Risshun celebrated yearly on February 3 as part of the Spring Festival. In its association with the Lunar New Year, Spring Setsubun can be and was previously thought of as a sort of New Year's Eve, and so was accompanied by a special ritual to cleanse away all the evil of the former year and drive away disease-bringing evil spirits for the year to come.

They yell "Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi!" (Demon out! Happiness in!) as they throw beans at the devil.

Our Makizushi for this year ... what a lavish tuna!!!  

It's also a tradition to eat uncut maki sushi on setsubun. Participants eat the entire role in one sitting in complete silence. It's important to face a particular "eho" or lucky direction as you do this. The direction changes each year according to a 5 year cycle... this 2017, the lucky direction is north-north-west.
