Baby it's cold outside ♪

Why it's terribly freezing cold this winter ?!
Japan has been experiencing heaviest snowfalls lately in four years.
The temperatures usually stay low as in minus degree celsius!
What happened to global warming?
Oh well... even it's too cold ...
still i went out driving and exploring around this weekend nearby town.
Mountain parts are almost covered with snow.
Some are close due to slippery road and heavy snow.
making a snowman??!

isn't he cute?!

The best thing to do to keep you warm during cold season is this hot spring!

pampering time inside the hot spring hotel!

 Typical Shizuoka' food specialties

Ferris wheel ... over looking Mt. Fuji

Harsh winter is not over yet ... so please don't let cold virus beat you guys!

Summer trip in Kamakura

Finally, i was able to visit Kamakura City!!!

It's an old city in Kanagawa Prefecture which is rich in historical, traditional and cultural sites.
It was a political center of medieval Japan.
 Kamakura is also well-known as
the version of Kyoto in eastern Japan.

I enjoyed many shrines, temples and other old facilities around.

Great Buddha in Kotokuin Temple.
A monumental outdoor bronze statue of Amida Buddha.

Bamboo grove in Hokokuji Temple

Everyone should not miss riding this...
Enoden line, popular old train in Kamakura.
It connects Kamakura to Fujisawa via Enoshima.

Japanese sweets
so sweet !!

Hasedera Temple

They also have sand beaches where everyone can enjoy especially during summers!

I am not yet done touring around Kamakura ... I have heard that it's better to visit the place during autumn season because the autumn leaves are stunning everywhere ... so hopefully, i will visit the place again ... most probably in Enoshima area xx

Momijiyama Japanese Garden

Momijiyama Japanese Garden is located in Sumpu Park.
It's very near in my place but it's been a while since i visited here ...
Mt. Fuji miniature
We can always find happiness everywhere !

We enjoyed the matcha and Japanese sweet at the tea pavilion.

What a soothing place to relax.

I think the best season to visit here is autumn... as the name of the garden is Momijiyama - mountains of red leaves ;-)

An early Valentine gift

Valentine's day is coming soon ...
Here in Japan ... the tradition is that women gives choco to men!  Men who receives choco on Valentine's day return that favor on March 14 which they called White Day.
Since I have many friends from other countries who believes Valentine's day is for everyone we love ... we traditionally give gifts to all we care about ;-)
Today, after my daughter-like Abs dated me for dinner and coffee ... she handed me something on the way home ... here it is ...
an early Valentine gift from her xx
What made it more special is that it's her homemade choco ...
'love it!  So sweet like her xx

May everyone have a sweet Valentine's day!!!

Tokyo, the busy capital city of Japan is well known as ultramodern city. However, traditional and historical places still exist in this city like excellent museums, historical shrines and temples, as well as gorgeous gardens.

Lately, whenever i have chance to visit Tokyo ... I explore different green spaces of this popular metropolis.
