Interact with the Shizuoka Governor

If I am not mistaken, it was the International Division of Shizuoka City that requested me to join the FUREAI TALK or forum on international relations of KENCHO or Shizuoka Prefecture Office regarding multicultural informations.
Since I am not good in refusing, I attended the forum which was held this morning at the conference room of Shizuoka Prefecture Office. We were 8 members invited and most of them were related to Brazil. Maybe it's because the Brazillian are on the first rank regarding foreign residents populations.
We had a great chance to meet the Shizuoka Governor, Mr. Yoshinobu Ishikawa. He is trully smart, friendly and warm. What impressed me more was his functuality. He came 5 minutes early to the schedule and he started the forum ahead of time sched. I was partly nervous not because the governor was around but for the fact that I am not prepared with my views and opinions! I was imagining a question and answer forum not an essay-like speeches! f^-^; Sooo I was forced to form and organize my opinions with my trying hard Japanese on the spot! Well... anyway, that's a good lesson for me... to be always prepared with my manuscript!!! After the forum... we had lunch together on top of the KENCHO building overlooking the Mt. Fuji and the Shizuoka area. We had a tasty Japanese-style lunch prepared from Nihon Daira Hotel! How's that ehh!

Hamada Festival 2007

Kuzuma san, one of the staff of Hamada Festival in Shimizu invited our Philippine NAKAMA group to present bamboo dance once again to their event. Actually, this is our 3rd year appearance. The event was held yesterday at Hamada Elementary School.
We always look forward appearing to this event because after our performances, we're enjoying their bazaar and other shows. Just too bad... I dropped-by late to the bazaar area this time so I wasn't able to buy some good stuff. Onother thing that we love to this event was that they prepare obento or packed lunch for us... not only for the performers but also to all our companies and not to mention our budget-- OREI desu... wooow! It's satisfying! Furthermore, what do count most were the kind reception they showed us. The staffs are trully friendly!
I would like to personally extend my sincere appreciation to all the members who made their efforts to support this event. MhWaAaAh!
The performances... Bulaklakan
...and Tinikling!with Mrs. Kusuma and some of our good friends from Shimizu FureaiThis is cool!

Believe it or not... we were all invited again to perform next year! Oh ohhh! Thanks for believing in us! Next year... motto ganbarimasu!

After the event in Hamada, we all proceeded to Maryann's home in Oshika to attend the birthday celebration of her son, Shiota and it was a bash! We did enjoyed the foods and the company of all other Phil NAKAMA friends who were present at that party. Thanks to Mr. Sugiyama and M'ann for the wonderful treat! After our lunch, we did held the meeting headed by uncle Jo in there. The general meeting will continue on November 11 at Analyn's home... and take note... that's my inaanak, Nao chan's birthday!

↓Happy 3rd birthday... Shiota!

Autumn fruit--- Kaki

Last Friday, while having lunch with some friends--- Annalyn, Nerissa and Emi... Nerissa mentioned that their Kaki trees that bears fruits are ready to harvest. The fruits are almost ripe and the birds are only eating them. So... she invited us to harvest it together.
Fortunately, I got time this afternoon so I went to Nerissa's place. I picked up Ajie to their home too. Analyn with her kids was already waiting for us... then we did harvest together the kaki fruit or known as Japanese persimmons at their yard. Sarah joined us later after the harvest time.
They even climb the tree to harvest! Ganbatte girls!!! Harvesting is fun!Kaki are crisp and sweets

Strange shape↓

We did harvest almost all the kaki fruits... too bad for the birds, they will surely be upset coz we took their foods! We harvested about 2 big baskets. Nerissa asked us to bring it all to our homes but it's too many so we decided to distribute it to some of our friends... so guys... wait for our kaki deliveries!

To Nerissa and family ittadakimashita! Next month... she said that we can harvest their kiwi tree's fruit already... mata yoroshiku! (^3^)mhwaaah!

Trip in Niigata City

Hello fellas! I've just arrived from my five pleasant days vacation to my daughter, Sachan in Niigata City. She actually had 3 days vacation from school that lasted today. Thanks to sports fest holidays! Well... Niigata is getting cold by now especially at night and in the morning. Sachan was very kind to lend me her parka but unfortunately, her stuff never fit me anymore no matter how I tried to (sigh)... so I was forced to buy my own parka.
After her school last Friday... we went shopping in Apita--Koshin. She kept on persuading me to buy the stuffs that strikes her fancy... like her boots and dresses! Pauto naman ako! Waaaah~aaah... it cost too much to have a daughter!
Sachan invited me for furikura---print club stickeres!
The next day... she invited me to go to Bandai City. Doshite mo, she wants to go to hair salon to cut her hair and straight it up again... goodness, I waited almost 5 hours! I went window shopping alone but again... it cost me a lot! I decided to wait at Food Plaza for the rest of the remaining hours... but it's very tiresome!
