Girls Talk?!

My co-staff at SAME-- Miyamoto san, Satomi san and me share the same month of birthdays and that is June... so we decided to celebrate it together with our other friends with same birth month. Muroi san is also June so she's in and we also invited Precy being same as Cancer sign 'though born in July... then Momoko san and of course Nanako san as special guest coz her birthday is April.
Finally, that celebration was held tonight in Cafe Capu. It's my first time to that place... and gee, its very near to our house. About 5 mins walk! heheh! The motiff of the place is like an old Japanese house furnished with old stuffs. Pretty nostalgic!
Satomi chan received bouquet flowers from me, Miyachan and Itou san for her one year good service at SAME! KORE KARA MO YOROSHIKU!I love this best... couscous mushrooms and octupus with tomato stew!
We enjoyed the great foods and drinks as well as we enjoyed our girls talk! lol! Precy and me are the only married friends in there... and talking with the bachelors ladies reminds us of our good youth days! hahah!

... and hey, we've just formed a new band in there headed by Miya chan playing yukulele, Gamu san as our guitarist, me and Muroi san as lead vocals, Precy as back up, and the rest are our managers and PROs. heheh! Our debut will be on that place-- Cafe Capu according to Miya chan... but I am suggesting that we must do it at SAME International Fest on October! Hope it will all work out and not just a tipsy talk! lol!

Whitney is back!

After all she'd been through... good for Whitney... she passed the test!
I missed her songs... she's one of my Diva's!
I love her new song... "I look to you"... yeees...I always look for you Whitney!

I Look To You -Whitney Houston by R. Kelly

As I lay me down
Heaven hear me now
I'm lost without a cause
After giving it my all

winter's storm has come and darkened my sun
After all that we've been through
Who on earth can I turn to

I look to you
I look to you

After all my strength is gone
In you I can move on

I look to you
I look to you

And when melodies are gone
In you I hear a song
I look to you

***

Go Whitney go!

Congrats to all!

Good... I was able to woke up before noon today! lol!
After having lunch with my hubs and lola in Royal Host, we picked up Liza downtown and my hubs drove us to Aicel 21.
Sooo that was it... we held the general meeting of Phil NAKAMA today. We also held the election of new officers for year 2009-2011 and of course the birthday of uncle Jo and Shinichi kun was celebrated!
The meeting was well attended by members, friends and their families... about 50 people according to our attendance.
I was touch to Shibata san and Arakawa sensei's comment about the group... according to them, they got extra power and feel uplifted when they are with us because we are all cheerful! lol!
I was also surprised to meet personally this Raita san. I only knew him by the phone and emails coz he had this interest to join our group. I thought he's just like those other dirty guys who misinterpret our group and nationality! lol! Finally today... he showed up... and I was shocked... he looks so modest, simple and yes... good looking young man and yes girls... he is single! Oooh... how I wish I met him when I was young! LOL!
The meeting and election

Precy was elected President and Olive as Vice President

Liza playing around while we are seriously counting the ballots in front...lol!

Below are the advicers and the newly elected officers for year 2009-2011 headed by Precy as upcoming President. Induction Ceremony will be held on the 8th Anniversary celebration of the group on September 6th.

Thanks to Sarah for driving me home. Sometimes it is good to have a driver... heheh! Alright... I must back to work... I am still working for the August issue of my MABUHAY! newsletter... so see you all soon...

and hey... by the way... speaking about the witch last time... maybe I am?! Liza, Amie and I hate to miss the yearly Abe Kawa Fireworks Exhibition which was sched same to our Summer Live event... sooo I wished that the exhibition will be postponed due to rain so that they can resched the event and we can able watch it. OMG... my wish was granted! lol!
Then I also guessed that Precy will be the 5th gene as Phil NAKAMA leader... and again it was granted! See... I am like a witch... hahah! Anyway, nothing to worry... i think this one is for good!
Oooh how I wish I win the lottery too! lol!

Longest Eclipse of 21st Century

It's awesome... I saw today the longest solar eclipse of the century. It's been visible across Asia and part of it was here in Japan. The solar eclipse lasted for about more than 6 minutes.
A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the Sun and the Earth so that the Sun is fully or partially covered. This can only happen during a new moon, when the Sun and Moon are in conjunction as seen from the Earth.

Below is a partial solar eclipse over Shizuoka City... pics courtesy by Yauchi kun taken from the ground of SAME office before our radio recording.

It's partly cloudy here in Shizuoka City but we are blessed to gaze the partial solar eclipse between the clouds. It was about past 11:00 a.m. when for the moment the sun disappeared and the sky totally turned into darkness then lightened. Pretty amazing to see especially on tv this somewhat like a black hole in the sky surrounded by a halo of lights--- especially the scene of somewhat like a diamond ring as what they described it here. Ohh yes... that is what we call a beauty of natural phenomenon!

According to experts the next longest total solar eclipse will occur on June 13, 2132. OMG... that means this is my first and last experience of long solar eclipse! Sigh!

If you missed the solar eclipse here in Japan... here some footage from NHK

Sachan is back from Niigata City!

Hola! Everyone at home is sooo excited coz Sachan arrived home yesterday for her summer vacation! Just in time for the celebration of OBON Festival-- a Japanese custom on honoring the departed spirits of one's ancestors.

Sachan's greetings to GIIGII!Below is OKURIBI--lit at the entrances of homes to send back the spirits of ancestors At night... Sachan joined me, uncle Jo, Dang, Liza, Maritess, Yasuhara sensei to Life Time Cafe Garden. We held the final meeting there for the event on the 25th... then we watched Maritess jazz sessions. Then the next day... I had a date with Sachan downtown. Actually we both bought contact lens then we went window shopping in Parco! We also went to print club sticker game center and below pics were what we got! Pretty cool!
Keep on smiling not because of something but inspite of everything!

RIP MJ!

On the morning of my birthday (25th in US time) ... I was shocked to read the headline on the net that Pop King Michael Jackson (50) died by cardiac arrest in his home and paramedics were unable to revive him. I grew up with his music... and he was a musical legend for me. Surely his music and memories will live on forever. Really he will be missed. RIP MJ!

On that day... heaven has gotten another angel... and that's Farrah Fawsett, one of my fave 1970s star in "Charlie's Angels" . She died at the age of 62, nearly 3 years after being diagnosed with anal cancer. RIP Farrah, no more pain now!

Back to MJ... I watched his memorial rites yesterday and it was sooo heartbreaking. I can't help crying like i knew him personally... especially on Brooke Shield and Paris Jackson speeches. Gosh... they really moved me!

Above video was an outstanding performance by JHudson singing MJ's Will You Be There For ME/Hold ME at the memorial service! She is sooo powerful inspite of being pregnant. MJ's narration on the last part was very touching. I broke down on tears! lol!

Above video was MJ final rehearsal from his "This Is It" tour. Michael Jackson is performing "They Don't Really Care About Us". The Footage was shot on June 23rd, 2009 by AEG Live.

One of his best song when he was young and became popular... BEN. I used to sing this song too... when I was young, lol!
