Tribute to Yabe Oniisan

I came to know Oniisan Yabe through Sarah... maybe that was about 5 years ago... Within this past 3 years, I became more close to him as a friend and my oniisan. It was so disappointing that he was very choosy in foods he eats but I like him for being so kind, frank and hard working. I remember him being so cooperative and supportive to our Philippine NAKAMA group... so last year, we invited and inducted him as one of our members.
At Nagoya airport... on our trip to Philippines last August↓
It was just last summer when we went together for a vacation in the Philippines with Yuki and Liza. We went together at Sarah's place in Surigao... and yes... whenever they were in Manila...he stayed in our house together with Sarah and the kids. Those were some of our happy days! I didn't thought that was our first and last trip to Philippines together.
The last gathering he joined us at Ma-kun's bday party on June 3↓

Unfortunately, 2 weeks ago, he was attacked by acute stroke and I was saddened to learn that he passed away last Saturday afternoon at the young age of 48.
I feel sorry to Sarah and her kids for the great loss of their loving "otoosan". In behalf of my family and our friends... our sincere condolences.
After his funeral, Phil NAKAMA group visited to his home for a prayer and last respect↓

Rest in peace Oniisan... thanks for being so nice to us! We will miss you and we will not forget you!

Our birthday celebration!

Maritess, Precy and I planned to celebrate our birthday together. We were supposed to have a picnic birthday celebration in Abe River yesterday but due to rains... we decided to held it at Precy's home in Oshika. We are so thankful to our buddies who joined us... it was truly fun to be with you all!
Maritess celebrated her birthday on June 14th... mine will be tomorrow, June 26th... while Precy is on July 2nd. By the way... it's also Pamela's birthday on June 30th... to all of us... may we have a blessed birhdays!!! (^3^)mhwaaah!!!

A wandering bird?

What' up birdie? Are you lost?

This afternoon, I was surprised to see a cute birdie inside our house alighted on the curtain rail of our kitchen door.

Fiesta in Yaizu City

Last Sunday, kuya Jo drove me and Liza to Yaizu City to attend the opening of Fiesta Pinoy restaurant of Janet. It's TABEHODAI (eat all you can basis)... and yes... it's Belinda's debut as a restaurant cook! We were amazed that she cooked all the foods and wow... everything was yummy! I've found out that she did not only cooked delicious bicol express, pansit and lumpiang shanghai... I terribly love her bopis and her sweet and sour fish... which reminds me of my mother's escabeche! Naku Dang huh... kina-career mo na talaga ang pagiging cook! More power and good luck to my birthday food catering on Sunday (^-^)v
I would also like to thank Janet for her wonderful hospitality. That was not only an eat-all-you-can... but that was also a sing-all-you-can night!
Talagang nabawasan ang stress ko! We'll surely be back someday!

An event at Link Nishina

Today, our Philippine NAKAMA group performed folk dances at the event of Shizuoka Ryunan Culture Promotion. The event was held at the hall of Link Nishina in Sena.
Of course we had a great time and nice show! Just too bad that the bamboo sounds echoed to the library downstairs... so we need to cut our bamboo dance audience participation portion.
Anyway... in behalf of Phil NAKAMA group, we would like to thank Mr. Mochizuki and the rest of his group for the invitation and the good obento they prepared for us! Our group souvenir!
Maika... the Philippine NAKAMA's KANBAN MUSUME (poster girl) ?! She's really a terrific bamboo dancer kid... watch for her!
The main event scene Mr. Nakamura of Friendly Club with her wife. Thanks for watching our show!
p.s.
Greetings to Maritess Tahara on her birthday on June 14th! See you all again soon... (^3^) mhwaaah!
