A Christmas visit to Kuya Ernie

It's been a while since we last visited Kuya Ernie at Home Kizuna in Hattori. This time, we visited there as a group of Philippine NAKAMA-- with Kuya Jo, Amie, Liza, Lilia, Precy and Dang. As usual, kuya Ernie can't help crying as he saw us and greeted him with some acappella of Pinoy traditional Christmas carol.
He looks fine and neat in spite of the fact that he's getting old... but still pogi pa rin po! Just too bad to hear that he stick with his wheel chair already and he's getting hard to speak.
Everyone in Home Kizuna are trully kind... not only the staff but including the aged friends who live there with kuya Ernie are very helpful.
We also hand in to the staff of Home Kizuna all the important stuff of Kuya Ernie that me and Liza holding like passports and alien cards.
The group also donated some amount as support for kuya Ernie. Thanks to the effort of the Phil NAKAMA group!
Hopefully, we can visit him again on New Years vacation.
Kuya Ernie... Merry Christmas and GANBATTE!!! See you again!
Well... after the visitation... we all went to Tambayan restaurant for dinner. It's an "eat all u can" fair! Ohhh... Sorry kuya Ernie... we took advantage of you again m(_ _)m

Maritess in Isetan!

Maritess informed us that she'll gonna have a gig in front of Isetan this afternoon. Good thing that Amie invited me for a window shopping in Isetan so we were able to see Maritess Christmas jazz performance in front of Isetan. It was raining but still there are lots of people gathered to see her performance. Maritess no.1 fan!
A charming appeal!Beside me is Maritess' composer! After the show, Liza followed us in Isetan for a window shop until we discovered this cute Snoopy collection exhibit. Then we had coffee together in Saizeria... no... not with Snoopy... just with Amie and Liza po!

Christmas around Shizuoka City

Every year the holiday illuminations at Aoba Symbol Road of Shizuoka City is getting better! The light ups started last December 6th and we can enjoy viewing them up to February 15th, 2008 from 5 pm to 10 pm. The city extend the time on special occasions.

We can also enjoy some of the illuminations in other vicinity of Shizuoka City like in Suruga Ward Office, Osada Community Office and west exit of JR Shimizu Station. Visit and enjoy them!

At Shizuoka Jonai Catholic Church, I was amazed to the Nativity display that I saw in the mid of the church altar.
...A Japanese image of Nativity↓Sto. Nino also changed his costume into gold!

Bonenkai season is here!

Bonenkai means "year-end party". It's an annual social gathering of friends or co-workers or even some groups where you are a member. This is usually held in the mid of December. It's a good opportunity to maintain good relationships with colleagues and friends.
Well... here are some of the separated parties that I attended this week↓

With my Friday group class, we held our bonenkai last Friday in Nakajimaya Hotel's Crossroad buffet restaurant. It's a good thing to catch up with some old students and friends too.

Over a cup of coffee while having fun with cards games with my graduating students from Shizuoka University.

Fun-filled Bonenkai and Christmas Party with SAME staffs, friends and volunteers. This was held in "Our Boozer" yesterday.

Santa's pants are too loose!

We did it! The Philippine team of "Take Five" radio program together with uncle Jo received some prizes from Bingo games!

There will be more on my bonenkai ... this coming week! Actually, I enjoy gathering with friends... but it's digging my purse!

P.S.: Some of the member of Friendly Club. We enjoyed playing cards--"Who am I?" on our last day class for this year (12.20.2007)

Sachan's 19th bday celebration

Jazz Live with Maritess

Get well soon, Arakawa san!

Our dear friend... Arakawa sensei was diagnosed of a liver cancer. Two days ago, he had an operation and was confined in Toyohashi hospital. With some of the Phil NAKAMA buddies-- Jo, Liza, Olive, Precy, Sarah and Ishigami san... we went to visit him in Toyohashi Shimin Hospital by car. That's almost one and a half drive from Shizuoka City... but we don't mind it... 'coz that's how much we care for this guy! he was trully a good friend to us and yes... we owe him a lot!
A stop over to Hamanako... behind is Hamanako Lake↓
We're glad to see him hanging tough! Our visit was full of hilarious and funny stuff. Well... that should be expected when this group gathered together! Our intention was to cheer him up during our visit... we hope his condition did not get worst! (^-^)v
Arakawa sensei's family was also around. I like this family... they're also game to ride on our jokes. Amusing! Thanks to their courteous accomodations inspite of our noisiness! Arakawa sensei! We hope and pray for your soon recovery... GANBATTE! p(^-^)q
